Serves 1
Ingredients
- 2 oz mezcal
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- ¾ oz jalapeño simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- ½ oz orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- Ice
- Salt or Tajín (for rim)
- Lime wheel and jalapeño slice (for garnish)
Optional: 2 oz blood orange juice or pineapple juice
Instructions
Rim a glass with lime juice and dip in salt or Tajín. Fill with ice.
In a shaker with ice, combine 2 oz mezcal, 1 oz fresh lime juice, ¾ oz jalapeño simple syrup, and ½ oz orange liqueur.
Add 2 oz blood orange or pineapple juice if using.
Shake well for 10–15 seconds.
Strain into the prepared glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel and jalapeño slice.
Tips
- Serranos taste even better—just be careful with the heat
- Adjust simple syrup to taste; start with less if you’re spice-sensitive
- For a smokier drink, use a more robust mezcal like Del Maguey Vida
